DESCRIPTION:
APW - Hamilton, Grade 951 (marked), 23J, 16S, heavy 14K gold HC recase, initials to front shield, gold cuvette with 1935 engraving, white enamel DS dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#81945. Gross weight of assembled watch 70.9 dwt (110.3 g). An extremely rare top grade watch, the pendant-set Grade 951 has a total production of only 44 made. This particular example is listed in the Hamilton factory ledger as having been sold on June 10th, 1918 to the Dennison Watch Case Co. of Birmingham, England. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some fine scratches adjacent case screw areas, some small fine scratches immediately around stem detent screw area, small spot near edge of plate above 951 marking, few typical micro-fine scratches elsewhere, patch of oxide to center hub of larger winding wheel, few small spots of oxide elsewhere to winding wheels; dial with cluster of outer chapter hls between 4 and 5, few outer chapter hls at 10, small surface flake at 50 minute numeral; excellent hands; case shows hardly any wear, extremely shallow dent to lower right of rear, slight dent to band near 11, crisp engine turning detail; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
